Conningbrook Lakes is a modern development of what will be over 300 new, state of the art homes, situated beside the beautiful lakes and rural scenery of Ashford, Kent.

A timeless reimagining of the traditional Kentish village, a variety of homes to suit all tastes and lifestyles have been created using Alumasc Rainwater Infinity steel gutters and downpipes.

Phil Lapping, Regional Sales Manager and Estimator at Gutterworks Limited, who supplied all rainwater management systems, said: “This beautiful new development deserves nothing less than the best.

“Having been built to a high standard by Chartway Construction on behalf of Westerhill Homes and Latimer, it was specified that all water management was to maintain the overall look and feel of each property. On many of the houses there are modern stainless-steel balconies, therefore, to put plastic gutters and drainpipes on these houses, although functional, just wouldn’t look right.

“Additionally, the environmental benefits of a steel system vastly outweigh that of a plastic system, which was an important factor in the decision-making process.”

Alumasc Rainwater Infinity stainless steel gutters and drainpipes were the most natural choice.

Finishing the houses to the best standard possible meant ensuring all accessories matched and upheld the high standards of Chartway Construction and Alumasc.

Rainwater Infinity Steel was developed by Alumasc to offer a contemporary, eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative to plastic gutters, that look sleek and have no risk of shrinking, leaking or colour fading.

Although supplied in their original galvanised steel finish, Alumasc are also able to supply Infinity steel systems in six different pre-coated colour finishes upon request, as well as plain zinc or copper. All colour coated lengths are protected with an adhesive film to prevent damage on-site.

Designed for ease of installation as well as quality, the dry joint system ensures there is no need for additional silicone sealants. Gutter lengths and angles are jointed with 'EPDM rubber sealed’ connectors, for a watertight installation, that are push-fit for speed.

Manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001: 2008 and ISO 14001: 2004, this lightweight, durable and non-corrodible rainwater management system has the added benefit of a higher flow capacity on outlets due to larger inlet funnels, and a ‘deep drawn’ gutter angle.

Phil explained: “We met with Chartway prior to installation to decide on the best product range for Conningbrook Lakes. Everyone was quite impressed with the samples on account of the simplicity of the design, the benefits Infinity offered, and the overall aesthetic that Infinity would help maintain—sleek and modern.”

This modern look is testament to the young, professional and often environmentally-minded population that is currently moving into the first completed houses.

Ashford is quickly becoming one of the south east’s newest international commuter towns, with young professionals and families moving between their idyllic homes to the hubbub of both London and Paris, with the help of the new Eurostar station in the area.

Conningbrook Lakes has been planned to incorporate the best of the lake views and surrounding country park setting. Now in phase two of development, the hub of the community along the north edge of the main lake is complete. To find out more about available homes visit www.conningbrooklakes.com
